Repeat Prescriptions

Your doctor will have entered what medication you are taking onto our computer system.  Even when we are not in the grip of a pandemic, it is more efficient for us to issue as many prescriptions as possible electronically.  If you have not already informed us which pharmacy you would like to nominate to collect future prescriptions from, please let us know so we can add the information to your record and any prescription that you request following assignment of your nominated pharmacy will be sent to them electronically.

Find local pharmacy information and much more at NHS Choices

The easiest way to request medication is by using the NHS App, which you can download to your mobile device.  If you have not already registered for our online services please ask us, in writing, to provide the necessary password information required by the NHS App.

Alternatively, you can post or email your Repeat Prescription form to the surgery or ask at any of the local pharmacies to sign up for their prescription collection service.  If you choose to deliver the request to us by hand please put it in the black box outside of our front door.  During the Covid-19 pandemic please do not enter the medical centre unless you also have an appointment.

If you need to request medication that is not on your repeat list please write a note to your GP and it will  be added to your prescription after verification.  There is an option to add a note when using the Online Prescription Request Service.

If you have more than one repeat prescription, please try and order all your items together.

Requests for repeat prescriptions are not taken over the telephone for medico-legal reasons as errors can occur in verbal communication.

Please check with your nominated pharmacy or prescription item’s supplier for the time you should allow between ordering your prescription and collecting/receiving it.  Each supplier will have it’s own time schedule.

Patients on regular medication may have their prescriptions issued via a computerised service called Repeat Dispensing – this is something your doctor will decide and put into place Click here for a full explanation of repeat dispensing.
